Whopper Bar coming in early 2011 to Power & Light
Want a beer with that Whopper?
Coming early next year to the Power & Light District, one of Burger King's new Whopper Bars. It will open in the former Chefburger space at 1350 Walnut St.
Burger King rolled out this new ‘Whopper and beer’ concept in March 2009 at Universal CityWalk in Orlando. It later added locations in Miami’s South Beach area, the University of Memphis, and New York City, as well as locations in Singapore and Venezuela.
Chain Store Age magazine honored The Whopper Bar with its “2009 Retail Store of the Year” award in the casual dining segment.
The operations feature a hip, ‘bar like’ design with a red/black/gray color scheme.
Kansas City’s Whopper Bar will probably serve Miller, Bud and hometown Boulevard Brewing Co. beers.
Customers also can order a Whopper, Double Whopper or Steakhouse XT. And they can really ‘have it their way’ with more than 20 different toppings to choose from.
Chefburger, which opened in early 2008, closed earlier this month. The owners hope to relocate.

It seems like it wasn't too long ago that chefBURGER closed. When was it exactly? Does this Whopper Bar have anything to do with their closing???? Doesn't surprise me if it does.
This just smells like failure !
Why wouldn't they bring a good concept into the area.
Cordish just doesn't seem to "quite" get it with the food operations with the exception of a few, we have seen many, many fail, too many closings and now another bad concept that won't last long at all.
Geez.

Who would want a beer with breakfast? Beer should only be served after 5pm but then it is always 5pm somewhere.
Cuz I wouldn't want to eat there if you were there, Anonymous!
I go to Burger King in Glasgow Kentucky every morning for a sausage biscuit and coffee. The first time I walk in and discover I can also buy a beer, will be the last time I go into that store.
Order a beer but don't wear a white t shirt at power and light
ReplyDeleteYou could order a big beer with your whopper burger or morning breakfast but don't go there in violation of dress code by wearing a plain white t-shirt or you will get busted by security and booted out after they throw you to the ground, kick you around and have you arrested and handcuffed.
