1979 Sharp Optonica RP-7705 APLD Full auto Direct Drive turntable record player very rare.

1979 Sharp Optonica RP-7705 APLD Full auto Direct Drive turntable record player very rare.

Condition: Used, VG.
Looks very good. Has very minor signs of use. Slight scratches, no cracks or dents.

Everything works great but the APLD system.

Pushing an APLD selection button (one of 7 different push button switches for up to 7 different tracks) can either light the correct L.E.D. indicator or flash all of the indicator L.E.D.’s and end up with a different indicator lit, sometimes multiple pushes of the button will light the correct indicator.

The indicator that is lit will result in that song being played though.
The (APLD) system could probably be easily repaired by a tech with
a service manual. Stereomanuals has the service manual available.

Cue, repeat, cut, play, quartz speed lock variable pitch control
all work correctly.

Plays the same side over and over when repeat button is selected with rock solid speed regulation.

It sees the shiny area between cuts and sets down in the right place.

All removable parts will be wrapped separately with plenty of packing

Tone arm is tie wrapped in place for safe shipping.

AKAI GX-280D reel to reel tape player recorder vintage

AKAI GX-280D reel to reel tape player recorder vintage
Cosmetically this is a real nice looking unit with only a
couple of minor flaws. There is a small chip of wood missing
on the upper right corner.  Also the upper left edge of the metal face
plate has a rough edge where something has rubbed
up against it but it is not easily noticed.

Used: Plays, rewinds, ff/fast forwards. May need cleaning, repairs, tuning.

Mechanically everything works as it should although
I think it will need a new counter belt.

The sound quality is excellent and it records real well.

The reverse play volume seems lower than in forward play.

allmusic biography by Corey Apar:"Shortly after forming, Minnesota's Four Letter Lie independently put out the EP Her Escape in May 2005, hitting the road hard to spread their name throughout the melodic hardcore/screamo scenes. Comprised of vocalist Brian Nagan, guitarists/vocalists Kevin Skaff and Connor Kelly, drummer Derek Smith, and bassist John Waltmann, the band soon sold over 1,500 copies of the EP, hooking up various dates on the 2005 Warped and Taste of Chaos tours along the way. Based on an online fan vote, the guys were asked to open Taste of Chaos' St. Paul date the following year as well, and by early 2006 they were signed to Chicago powerhouse Victory Records. Four Letter Lie's label debut, Let Your Body Take Over, appeared in late October 2006. It was followed by What a Terrible Thing to Say in February 2008."
